10cc are an english pop band that achieved its greatest commercial success during the 1970s
The band initially comprised four members, Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, who had written and recorded together for about three years before taking on the name of 10cc in 1972.
The original four-piece lineup of 10cc boasted a wealth of talent -- there were two strong songwrit... ing teams (although combinations of all four members collaborated on some songs), all four members were skilled multi-instrumentalists and vocalists, and each could perform convincingly as lead singers, leading to favourable comparisons with The Beatles.
In 1976 Godley & Creme left, releasing records under that name before making a significant contribution to the development of the music video in the 80s. Stewart and Gouldman continued as 10cc, adding musicians for live work and albums, achieving their third UK number 1 in 1978 before they began to fade commercially.
