Adèle bio
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, born 5 May 1988, is an English soul/jazz singer-songwriter from Enfield, North London. Signed to XL Recordings, a music label which primarily focuses on independent talents within Britain, Adele manages to incorporate a variety of flavours into her music, incredibly striking many people with her ability to vocalise lyrics with an extremely soulful voice accompanied by her... jazzy beats. She won two Grammy Awards in February 2009 for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
After signing to XL Recordings, she released her first single titled Hometown Glory, a song she wrote in 10 minutes when her mother was trying to persuade her to leave her home city for University, which was also re-released as her fourth single. The song peaked at #19 and placed inside the UK Top 40 both times it was released. At the end of 2007, Adele was named as the BBC Sound Of 2008 and was also awarded the first BRIT Awards Critics' Choice Award.
