Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Jazz), was an American singer, considered one of the most influential jazz vocalists of the 20th Century.
Fitzgerald's most famous collaborations were with the trumpeter Louis Armstrong, the guitarist Joe Pass and the bandleaders Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
Fitzgerald recorded thre... e Verve studio albums with Armstrong, two albums of standards Ella and Louis (1956) and Ella and Louis Again (1957), and a third album featured music from the Gershwin musical Porgy and Bess.
