Röyksopp bio
Röyksopp (xttp://www.royksopp.com) is an electronic music duo based in Bergen, Norway, but the members are originally from Tromsø (xttp://maps.google.no/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=no&geocode=&q=Troms%C3%B8&sll=61.143235,9.09668&sspn=13.387119,46.625977&ie=UTF8&ll=69.66126,18.95027&spn=0.149878,0.728531&t=h&z=11), in northern Norway.
The band consist... s of Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge. The group formed officially in 1998 and released their debut album Melody A.M. in 2001. The Norwegian word "Røyksopp" means puffball fungus (lit. "(a) smoke mushroom").
Röyksopp have won many prizes for their music, one of them in MTV Europe Music Awards 2002 for the best music video (Remind Me (xttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBvaHZIrt0o)). Remind Me was also used in the popular Geico insurance "Caveman (xttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H02iwWCrXew)" TV commercials while their first single So Easy became popular in the UK after it was used in a T-Mobile advert. In 2007 O2 used in their commercial song What Else Is There? from the album The Understanding. O2 commercial aired in Czech Republic.
