The 69 Eyes bio
The 69 Eyes originate from Helsinki, Finland. They became a band in the early 1990's and are nowadays labelled as "gothic rock" though their early releases were more of a glam/hard rock style.
Their first release was entitled Sugarman and was on the album Bump N' Grind, this was a Finland only release in 1992. They followed it up with another album (Finland only release) e... ntitled Savage Garden. They then released another album in 1997 (another Finland only release) entitled Wrap your Troubles in Dreams.
The first international release was in 1999, an album entitled Wasting the Dawn, with the hit-single Wasting the Dawn paying tribute to The Doors Jim Morrison, and featuring HIM's Ville Valo in the video. This album was a turning point from the hard rock style into the more gothic direction.
In 2000, they released the single Gothic Girl, which became a Gold record in Finland.
After recording their third major album Blessed Be, they did a tour around Germany to promote their Wasting the Dawn album, this tour was with the band Zeromancer.
